Leica Geosystems, headquartered in Heerbrugg, Switzerland, is one of the world market leaders in the field of high-precision surveying instruments. Still a Swiss company in the first years of the new millenium, and having always been a spearhead of technology development, Leica was in a phase of transition from 2D- to 3D data acquisition and from purely manual to automated processes.
This film, shot in the year after the Olympics, allows interesting glimpses into a very real discussion of a present that is not so long gone and a future that had begun just about then.
